Fun & Safety at the Pool

School is out and the children want to go to the pool. Parents must always accompany their children to the pool. Please see the pool rules for this information. We would like to impress upon parents that they must closely supervise their children while they are at the pool - especially small children. If a parent brings a child that can’t swim, the rule of thumb is that that child should never be more then an arm’s length away from the parent even in shallow water. Always be vigilant.

Parents can be lulled into a false sense of security by equipping their child with flotation devices. The American Academy of Pediatricians recommends strongly that flotation devices not be used. They are not meant as a safety device and may deflate at any time. The only safety device allowed is a life jacket certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. Even if a child is wearing a certified life jacket parents should remain within arm’s length of their children.

Caution children against showing off, jumping on others, running, diving recklessly, and playing rough.

The pool is open from Memorial Day Weekend until Labor Day. No swimming unless a lifeguard is on duty. The pool operates on weekends until the school term is over and then daily until Labor Day. Pool regulations and application for pool passes are given to all residents prior to the opening of the pool and must be followed. Resident and guest passes are obtained from the Village office. They are not delivered to the unit. Pool hours are determined annually and residents are informed. Guest coupon passes are available from the Village office.

Please read your pool rules and regulations. Call the office if you have any questions.

We hope you enjoy your summer at the pool.
